Red Head

Cannon got a haircut and Lexa (Alexis) put red hair gel in his hair. He thought he was the coolest, especially when we went to the pool and everyone made a fuss over it.

After naptime, he noticed the red gel was gone, he was crushed.

Things He Says

Lately, when we say our nightime prayers I have been asking Cannon if there is anything he would like to pray about or thank God for.

Last night, he thanked God for golf clubs, the golf course and Baby Sutton Corder.

Tonight he thanked God for pricesses, dragons and castles (I guess he is enjoying my silly made up bedtime stories).

My Good Steward

Cannon and I have been talking about what it means to be a good steward. We have been taking care of the birds by giving them food and creating them a house and we have stopped throwing coins (somedays), etc.

This morning he went outside and came back in and he said, "Mommy I good steward, I take care my toys"! Then he handed me his toy telephone and said, "I call God, you call God". So I got on the phone with God and bragged about my good steward. Then Cannon came inside and got... the real phone and said, "Now I call Jesus".

We Share

Sharing is a concept that most kids do not get. Wait, I think they do get it, they just refuse to oblige!

We are always talking to Cannon about sharing. Recently, he has decided that he LOVES to share.

For example, Mommy is sitting on the couch drinking Pepsi, he walks over and grabs my cup and says, "We share" with the sweetest smile you have ever seen.

I secretly grab a peppermint patty out of the refrigerator, discretly open it and I hear, "What's that Mommy, we share?" (Smile).

Every morning, Brett makes breakfast and he and Cannon share it.

Believe it or not, this love of sharing was also "shared" with a friend this week. His friend Rylee had a little car she was playing with and they kept taking turns with it. Cannon kept telling me over and over with such pride, "we share".

But do not let me fool you into thinking that my 27 month old child is a full-blown sharer! An hour before, he was crying "Mine, Mine" over some pool toys.

Hot Dog

Everyday, Cannon amazes me more and more. Over the last 2-3 weeks his verbal skills have increased immensely and it seems like he is able to relate things so much better, and communicate more effectively.

Another, amazing accomplishment is that he is coming out of his shell, socially. Normally, if we are around strangers he will not talk to them. He MIGHT say "Hi" but normally he just looks at them. Last weekend, we took him to a wedding shower and he was the life of the party, giving high 5's, talking to everyone, asking questions, and even being funny. Everyone seemed to really enjoy him! I was so proud of how social he was.

Tonight, we were out at dinner and he ordered for himself. I was amazed and proud. I almost cried! It is just weird to think a month ago he would have never talked to our waitress. Although, this might be a curse because after 5 minutes of waiting on his order, he screamed across the restaurant, "WHERE IS MY HOTDOOOOOOOG????????"
