Milestones
My baby is growing up. I know that I am going to love this new stage in our lives, but it's bittersweet seeing my baby grow up.
Sutton has stopped nursing completely, we are about two weeks into a completely weaned little boy.
He is also potty trained now. He is amazing. He will just walk into the bathroom, pull his pants down, go potty and pull them back up. If he poops, you have you run in and wipe him. He thinks he is so big, he will attempt to wipe himself, and pull his pants back up. He is such an independent little boy.

Poop!
this week sutton has finally pooped several times in the potty.
i didn't think it would ever happen.
today was the most amazing accomplishment when he was fully dressed in pajamas and a pull-up and went to the potty all by himself, pulled down his pants, went poop! and then came to get me to clean him.
we were all so proud!
don't you just love reading a mommy's blog! :)

The boys both got golf clubs for Christmas. Cannon had outgrown his and we thought Sutton needed his first set. We finally got around to taking them to thr driving range. This was Sutton's first time.

Sutton
On Saturday night, Sutton was playing and fell with a toy in his mouth. We went to the dentist today and they did an Xray. The tooth is not fractured but it is loose. There is a 50% chance they may need to remove the tooth. Please pray that his little tooth will tighten and remain healthy and in place.

No More Gates
As sad as I am that Sutton is growing up, this is one milestone I am elated to hit! NO MORE GATES! Yes, you read it right. We moved into our new house and tossed the gates! Not really but we no longer have to climb over, under, around gates! Yippee!
Sutton has mastered the stairs, up and down without any help. It is actually very cute to be downstairs and notice that he has gone to play in his room. Sweetness.

Two Lunches
Tomorrow is the first day at the boys "school".
This will be Cannon's last year at this "school". Its not really a "school". They do have a curriculum and Cannon has learned so much, but he only goes 2 days a week for 8 hours. Next year, the plan is that he will go to a "real" school for his Pre-K/K4. I cannot believe that this is my last year with him before he is gone 4-5 days a week. How did he grow up so fast?
I know very soon I will be looking at a high school graduate. Everyone says that their childhood goes by so fast. How can 18 years be fast? Trust me I know it is. It seems like only yesterday we were blessed with this sweet boy, but he is very close to being 4 years old.
This little boy so desperately wants to be BIG and I just want to keep him little. I just want to savor these times with him.
Sutton will start "school" tomorrow for the first time. I still cannot believe I actually layed out his clothes, packed his backpack and his lunchbox. Up until tonight I still wasn't sure if I was going to take him and as I write this I am wondering...
He is such a baby to me and to little to be away from Mommy a whole 8 hours a week. I want to hold on to the "baby" in him, keep him small, close.
Give me the noise, the chaos, the mess, the piles of laundry, the sink full of dishes, the cookies crushed all over the kitchen floor, the jelly ground into the carpet, the yelling. Give me this and all the cuddles and snuggles and kisses and love. Give me more, more, more...I know all to soon that my home will be to quiet.

15 Months
Yes, this babe is 15 months old and just in case you do not get the idea from these pictures...he is ADORABLE!
He is so fun, so rotten and so sweet.
Weight 24 pounds 6 oz - ONLY 50th percentile!!
Height 2 feet and 7.7 inches -75th percentile
About the Babe:
He prays. He will put his hands together and say "pray" before meals and sometimes a random times. So cute.
He sings. He can do motions to "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider". He LOVES music.
He knows tons of animal sounds: quack, moo, meow, woof, baa, roar, growl. He also makes a cute fishy face.
He signs "more", "nurse", "food" , " all done", "more", "car", "light", "airplane" and "fan". Probably a few I am forgetting. I really wish I had taught him more he really seems to think it is great to sign.
He LOVES books. He will jsut pick book after book for naptime and bedtime. He says "book, book, rea". He has favorites: "What Do You Say?", "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom", some crazy Alligator Puppet Book (I will check the name), and several touch and feel books. He also loves several books with "real" pictures of people, animals, things, etc.
LOVES the cats and they are very tolerate of him, more so that Cannon.
He LOVES to give kisses, high fives, and hugs.
He also is a hitter! He hits poor Cannon ALL THE TIME. I think Cannon is scared of this little guy. He will just randomly hit him with whatever object is in his hand.
And TANTRUMS! Oh my! I do not remember Cannon ever just throwing himself on the floor. Sutton does it quite often. He will hit(me) when he doesn't get his way, pout, cry and just be rotten.
And with that being said, he is still such a sweet, happy and content little person.
Sutton is the smartest little thing. He really seems to pick up things so easily. I wonder if that is just a second born thing? He is very observant and will do things that I never thought he could. He is great at following directions and understands so many things when we ask him questions. I will say things not expecting a response and he will shakes his head and say "yeah" or "yep".
He LOVES Brett's Lipton Diet Green Tea. YES, I have told Brett he should not have it and its still this thing they do. :)
He is a joy, a blessing and he are so honored that we are his family!

Happy First Birthday, Sweet Sutton!
Sutton's birthday party was a blast!!! Enjoy!

invitation from etsy.com (chickabug designs)

love this recycled project!! these were soda cans that i cut to look like flowers, the yellow centers are lids from sutton's baby food, and we used clothes hangers for the stems.

these are mason jars filled with bug candy!

bug nets with bubbles, candy, bugs, magnifying glass, and more!

i hung this banner and realized there were no pictures of sutton on the mantle. there were pictures of my maternity session from cannon and all newborn pics of cannon. so i pulled these off sutton's wall a few minutes before the party.

each flower petal has a picture of sutton from each month of his precious little life.

the night before! brett was a huge help! he put the bug houses together and even "munched" the plates for me with a scallop punch. :)

our awesome cake courtesy of Buffie Folwer, Cakes by Buffie.

i made this awesome wreath!! i am in LOVE with it. it will be a family tradition to put it out on birthdays.

decorating their bug houses.

chocolate covered marshmellow "flowers"

the 'lil bugs are going on a bug hunt

i LOVE LOVE this picture of sutton.

brett and i made this photo board. it turned out soooooo cute!! i love this and plan to try to do a version of this for future parties too.

loved his cake.

our sweet family. cannon is wearing an adorable ant shirt from etsy.com. i made brett's "roach" shirt with an iron-on and sutton's too. my shirt is just a white shirt from old navy. i got these flowers from the craft store and glued them onto pins and pinned them on.

this picture CRACKS me up.

it was a perfect day. the weather was perfect and sutton seemed to enjoy himself. this was our best party so far! everything turned out so well.
i really hope that my boys remember these sweet moments when they get older.
i just LOVE birthdays. growing up i only remember having 2 parties. i guess i am making up for it now.
