Two Lunches

Tomorrow is the first day at the boys "school".

This will be Cannon's last year at this "school". Its not really a "school". They do have a curriculum and Cannon has learned so much, but he only goes 2 days a week for 8 hours. Next year, the plan is that he will go to a "real" school for his Pre-K/K4. I cannot believe that this is my last year with him before he is gone 4-5 days a week. How did he grow up so fast?

I know very soon I will be looking at a high school graduate. Everyone says that their childhood goes by so fast. How can 18 years be fast? Trust me I know it is. It seems like only yesterday we were blessed with this sweet boy, but he is very close to being 4 years old.

This little boy so desperately wants to be BIG and I just want to keep him little. I just want to savor these times with him.

Sutton will start "school" tomorrow for the first time. I still cannot believe I actually layed out his clothes, packed his backpack and his lunchbox. Up until tonight I still wasn't sure if I was going to take him and as I write this I am wondering...

He is such a baby to me and to little to be away from Mommy a whole 8 hours a week. I want to hold on to the "baby" in him, keep him small, close.

Give me the noise, the chaos, the mess, the piles of laundry, the sink full of dishes, the cookies crushed all over the kitchen floor, the jelly ground into the carpet, the yelling. Give me this and all the cuddles and snuggles and kisses and love. Give me more, more, more...I know all to soon that my home will be to quiet.

Teachers

For Cannon's teachers, we recycled the white terra cotta pots from Sutton's birthday. We made "roses" from marshmellows, chocolate and sprinkles and then I made these little gift card holders from wire I got at Lowe's.

They were really cute.

For those of you that know us so well...what places do you think we got gift cards from?

Thanksgiving

I just love holidays!!

For Cannon's Thanksgiving party at school we made this awesome turkey! Cannon helped make the skewers!

We also made these little pilgrim hats.

We made a blessing tree to help us celebrate Thanksgiving and remind us how blessed we are. We add a leaf or two or three each day. Cannon used watercolors to paint the leaves then we "flicked" them with black paint on a toothbrush so they would look more realistic. Maybe I will try to get a close-up tomorrow.
Things Cannon is grateful for: golf, moppets, Jesus, Sutton, Mommy, Daddy, golf, chocolate milk, golf (yes, he says it everyday!!!), leaves...

School Music Program

Cannon school has a precious little music program at the end of the school year. Cannpn has been singing these songs for months, he knows them all by heart but at the program he was more interested in watching himself on the big screens that were behind him.

He was also SUPER tired because he woke up at 6am this morning. You can probably tell how tired he is.

This one kid cried like this the whole time. It was hilarious. Cannon did not think it was funny, he was quite concerned about this poor child.

Our Easter Week Begins...

Cannon and I made cupcakes for his party at school.

The minute I pulled the beaters off, Cannon said, " I lick it!"

Finished product.

(I need to stop saying "What are you doing?" It annoys me).

The next day...

Girlfriend

If you spend anytime around Cannon you will soon know that he is a lover, a big time giver of kisses and hugs!

His teacher at school says he asks for kisses and hugs all the time.

About two weeks ago, Ms. Deena said that Cannon and a little girl in his class, Elizabeth were sitting together and Elizabeth laid her head on Cannon's shoulder. Apparently, Cannon took this as an invitation to give her tons of kisses.

Monday when I picked him up she was telling me that they always sit together and that they hold hands throughout the day!

Can my two year old have a girlfriend already?

Happy Thanksgiving, (Late)!
Here are a few pictures after Cannon's Thanksgiving party last week.

"Favorite"

Today when I picked Cannon up from school his teacher said, "Cannon has become quite the little flirt!" She said he gives them these cute little smiles and shows that irresistible dimple!

I asked if he was good in class and she said "Oh yes, actually today we were talking about how he is our favorite." Apparently, he is the only one that is always good and listens very well. Everytime she tells him to do something, he does it promptly and without whining (what??)Plus, well, he has that dimple. :)

Firetruck/ChooChoo Day

It was Firetruck Day at school on Monday. The firetruck came to school and all the kids were allowed to tour it. According to Cannon's sweet teacher, he got to "drive". He also received this hat which he loved until tonight when it became a jump toy. It is now destroyed.

He calls the firetruck a choo choo.
