One Week Old

Birth Day

Well, I finally have time to write. Sutton is laying in a sling close to my chest. Cannon and Daddy are napping in the other room. It is so hard to believe that Sutton is already 10 days old.

I wanted to write a little about the day Sutton was born and I feel like I need to get it all down NOW before I forget something.

On Monday, May 10 I went to see my doctor. It was really just a formality. Apparently, there is some kind of "rule" that you must be seen in the last 7 days if you are having surgery. So I went.

While, I was there she did an exam and said, "Girl, you are definitely going to need a c-section. Thank God, you do not want to have a VBAC because NOTHING is happening!" She said I would need to come back in 4 weeks if I wanted to have one. Ha.

While I was there I mentioned that I had not felt Sutton moving as much over the weekend. I almost did not mention this at all because I thought it was normal considering that he was getting so big.

Dr. Hamilton said, she wanted to do an ultrasound and a non-stress test just to make sure everything was okay. She said we are about the deliver this baby and I do not want to take any chances that something might be wrong between now and tomorrow.

So she does the ultrasound and finds a small pocket of amniotic fluid and that is it. She says that I have no amniotic fluid, I need to go over to the hospital now and they will start monitoring me and the baby needs to come out today!

What??? I am not packed, Brett is aty work, Cannon is at school, Mimi is in Myrtle Beach. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I completely freeak out, begin to cry my eyes out. This was not in my plan.

Sutton was born at 6:01 pm on May 10, 2010. He is perfect.

Later Brett overheard two of the nurses saying that my amniotic fliud levels were fine, this was determined during my surgery.

Apparently, my plan meant nothing compared to God's plan. When will I learn that I am not in control. God's plan was perfect. Monday night was a rough night for me after Sutton was born. I had a good amount of pain, nausea, vomiting and lots of scratching!!!!! I was miserable! I think God worked it out so Sutton would be born Monday night so that I would have time to recuperate before all the adoring fans came to meet our new addition.

Why do I look Chinese? This is what happens when you cry to much about things being out of your control. :)

Let's Compare.

I take it back! I said Cannon and Sutton did not look alike but look at these pictures!

Sutton 5 days

Cannon 2 days

Sutton
Cannon

They have the same nose and lips, although Cannon's are a bit larger. When I look at Sutton in person though he looks nothing like I "remember" Cannon looking. I guess my memory might not be that great. :)

Welcome, Sweet Sutton.

Here he is...

POOOOL!!!!!

Around April 22, we pulled out Cannon's pool. It was very warm outside but the water was not! Cannon was so excited. I filled the pool, he asked if he could get in and...

he immediately took off his swimsuit and jumped in!

He squealed and giggled with such delight! It was soooooo fun to watch.
