Merry Christmas Poppy

Merry Christmas, Poppy!

For Christmas we went to see Poppy's "stone" as Cannon calls it. For Christmas, we decided to get a gift in Poppy's memory for him. If you have ever read this blog you know the "Poppy/Chicken" connection. So we decided to buy chickens from Samaritan's Purse in his memory!

Cannon painted a picture with chickens and a happy little boy and our intention was to attach it to this balloon and send it up! We lost the painting in our car full of presents! We found it, of course, when we got home!

Wear Your Helmut!

Gigi and Grandpa got Cannon a Woody for Christmas (which we celebrated this past Saturday). He was so excited. He carried Woody around, slept with him, covered him with his "cozy".

He has shown so much love for Woody that I was amazed last night when I noticed that someone had biten Woody's nose. When I asked Cannon what happened he told me, " I bite his nose". I reprimanded him and gave Woody back to him. Then he bit his nose again! Basically, Woody has half a nose now.

So as we lay in bed last night, I told him Buzz and Jesse would not come live with him if he was going to bite them. He said,

"Well...Well...Buzz better put his helmut on so he doesn't get a bite".

Our Christmas staretd early this year because of a Trip to Snowshoe, WV that didn't happen. Anyway, we did Christmas early with Brett's family in Rock Hill.

We enjoyed yummy food, great family time and relaxin' on the farm! (Almost forgot, the yummy Key Lime Martinis!!)

Practicing his stinky face.

In Heaven

After the death of Poppy, we were so concerned about how to tell Cannon that Poppy was in Heaven. The day that we traveled home, Brett sat down with him and told him that "Poppy was in Heaven" and Cannon said "okay". That was it!

Everyday for the almost two weeks that we were in Conway, Cannon would wake up and the first thing he said was, "Mommy, Poppy is in Heaven". He never asked, "where is he? or when is he coming home". Kids are amazing.

One night he asked me to pray for Poppy's chickens. This is not an unusual request. He knows that they are in Heaven too and we often pray for them for some reason.

After praying, we were talking about Poppy. I asked Cannon "what do you think Poppy is doing in Heaven?". He replied, "drinking lemonade and eating chicken!!"

Now I know why we pray for them. Poor chickens.

We're Going On a Boat Trip

We recently made an trip to Horry County to visit the family. A trip is not complete without spending time with Grampy on his boat! This is one of Cannon's favorite things. Anytime he sees a boat he says," I go on Grampy's boat, please?"

He always gets watermelon too.
CRAZY Uncle Chad on the rope swing.

He tried to get Brett to go on it but Brett was afraid he might break the rope or the steps up the tree so he opted out.
