Cannon Tour '08 (continued)

On Thursday, Brett's cousin Korenne came over with her kids.

After lunch, we went over to the Corders' in Proctorville, Ohio. Cannon meets his Great Grandparents for the first time. We really enjoyed spending time with them. We had a great dinner with the best corn-on- the-cob ever! They really enjoyed Cannon.

Cannon Tour '08

Shortly after Cannon was born, Brett began planning Cannon Tour '08! It was really important to him to travel to West Virginia to let his grandparents and extended family meet the FAMOUS CANNON!

So last week, the CANNON TOUR 2008 commenced!

On Tuesday, we traveled to Rock Hill, SC and spent the night with GiGi and Grandpa Corder. Cannon saw horses for the first time and did not like them. Apparently, he takes after his dad.

On Wednesday morning we hit the road. We traveled a few hours before "squatting" at a KOA campground for lunch and a car break for Cannon. We pruchased fried chicken from Aunt Mae's and headed over to the campground. Cannon lounged around on his blanket while we ate. We spent an hour there before hitting the road again.

We arrived in Barboursville, WV on Tuesday and Cannon meet his Great Grandpa Vance for the first time. He also meet his Great Aunt Tammy.

Grandpa Vance took us out to eat at Logan's Steakhouse. Cannon sat on the table in his Bumbo and was the center of attention for everyone in the restaurant. Grandpa told us funny jokes and we had a good time!

First Tooth

Cannon has been working on a tooth for a couple of weeks now. There has been a notable difference in his behavior. We kept wondering when it might appear!

Last night, he was having a tough night and Brett and I were trying to get him to go to sleep. Finally, we decided to just let him stay awake. Brett was asking him if he was getting a tooth and started massaging Cannon's gums and GUESS WHAT? There is was! The emergence of a little white tooth! We got out the flashlight to inspect it and all. :)

Rolling Over

Many weeks ago I told you Cannon rolled over, once. I recently told you that he has been rolling over to sleep. Well, now he rolls over everytime you put him on his back. No grunting, no straining, just rolling over like a champ. Check back soon...my misson this weekend is to catch it on film.

I am FIVE Months Old!

I am FIVE months old. I do not have time for a long update. Besides, I just did one! :) I just wanted you to see a comparision of me today at five months and when I was 1 month old!

This blog is about our family, mostly our precious boys; Cannon and Sutton, but you will find it a window into our lives.

Brett and I met and fell in love over waiting tables at the Original Benjamin's Seafood Buffet in Myrtle Beach, SC. We dated for about 4 years and were married September 2003 at Litchfield Plantation. We lived in Savannah for five years and now reside in Summerville SC.

Our beautiful boys were born 2008 and 2010.

We are amazed everyday by the gifts that are our children. They are a reminder of God's unconditional love for us. Someone once told me that you cannot begin to understand God's love for you until you have a child and it is so true. God sent His Only Son to DIE for us. I am not sure we knew what kind of sacrifice that truly was until having children of our own.

We love the Lord and strive to live our lives in accordance with His will. We are not perfect. Yes, we fail daily but find ourselves back at the cross willing to try again.

Our firstborn son. He made me a Mommy, Brett a Daddy! He is beautiful...inside and out! He has a the most gorgeous blue eyes and dimple to match. This kid is going to break some hearts! He is our athlete. He loves anything with a ball. He already has a great baseball arm and can hit a golf ball over our fence! He is spirited and loving. He is a lover for sure! He loves to give hugs and kisses and to cuddle. He will just grab my face and give me a million kisses. He loves books and music and art! He knows more songs that I do. I joke he has music in his bones. I often hear him singing while playing alone. So cute. He has a great sense of humor already and he fills our days with laughter! Who knew having kids would provide endless entertainment. He is becoming an amazing big brother and already tells Sutton that he "loves him so much". He loves to drink chocolate milk. Loves eat pancakes, hummus, edamame, and peanut butter and jelly! He has a huge sweet tooth just like Daddy. He is already showing that he loves God and Jesus and even beginning to relate the things in God's word to our world. Amazing! He is fearless and cautious at the same time. He is often called a daredevil and is usually the first kid to jump, climb, and run.. with no regard to danger (He laughs in the face of danger!! Ha). But he is very cautious around new people. He is creative and imaginative and smart, loves to create and destroy, has more energy than you can imagine, loves to scream and laugh and RUN!!! Watch out, this kid will run away with your heart.
