Oooky!

Two weeks ago I got an email for a "trusty" site that included a picture of what our baby looked like that week. I sent it to Brett and he thought it was gross.

This week, I received the above picture and once again I emailed it to my sweet husband. He emailed me back, "Please do not send me these things. Oooky!"

With all the grossness that I have been experiencing recently. He should get his share, right? The only bad part is that the pictures start looking more human and less "Oooky" each week. Maybe I can find a picture of a placenta to send him! HA!

Mass Murder Possible

For the last 4-5 weeks I have felt horrible every single day. For the first 2-3 weeks after we found out I was pregnant, I had horrible stomach pains and mild cramps. Then started the nausea and it lasts all day. For a while it would go away if I ate something, however, for the last two days it will not go away at all.

I keep trying to find comfort in the "gossip" that you feel great after the 12 week mark! Please God let this be the case for me. When I wake up on the morning of week 13 if I am not feeling better I am going to kill EVERY author of EVERY baby book and EVERY "web designer" and "contributor" to EVERY website!!

I just want one good day!

Start Spreading the News...

7 week Ultrasound

We traveled to Conway and Myrtle Beach this weekend to see our families for Father's Day and to start spreading our news!

On Saturday, I met my Mom for lunch in Conway, SC. We ate at our of my favorite little downtown restaurants, The Trestle. Before we went inside I gave her a t-shirt rolled up with a ribbon around it! When she opened it she read, "I am going to be a Nana!".

She was in shock for the rest of the day!

Then, I met Michelle and Davis. We walked around Conway, in and out of several cute shops, wondered into an Art Gallery where the owner was so excited to see us that he helped us waste almost an hour of our time giving him tips on attracting "trendy and progressive people" like US! I gave Michelle a little ornament that said "One Cool Aunt" for her June 12th birthday! She opened it and said "Oh Davis, Auntie Kimbery is making sure she is your favorite!" and then I said "No, this is for Auntie Michelle"! She was so excited!

On Saturday night, we had a cookout at Brett's parents home. At one point in the evening we grabbed Tom and asked him to come into the room. We gave him a card and a bag with a polo shirt and then his t-shirt! He unrolled the t-shirt that said " I am going to be a Grandpa" and said "No WAY!" Then he started crying and hugged me and Brett! It was really sweet! We made him put the t-shirt on and he walked out to see the rest of the family! Carla said she "knew it" because I had been sick that morning! I think she was "hoping". Then she said she " was broke"! I guess she is already planning to buy all those cute baby outfits! Tom was so shaken up he could not even say grace! I think he is very excited about being a grandparent!

On Sunday, we met to see my dad and went to lunch. Prior to leaving he opened his bag of gifts and pulled out a t-shirt too! He stood there holding it up and said "What is this?" Then, he showed my brother, who came running in from the front porch, he was super excited and asked why I had been keeping it a secret for so long! Then, he called Stacy and said I just had to tell her! She was also happy.

Brett called Bill and Gisele today to tell them too! Gisele was super excited to go baby shopping!

Overall, spreading the news has been fun!

We are PREGNANT!

May 19, 2007

Today I took TWO home pregnancy tests and they were both positive.
Does this mean we are pregnant? I think so!

About 8 months ago Brett and I decided we'd leave the baby thing up to God. We both knew we were not "ready" to be parents but we also knew we never wanted to "try" to get pregnant. I know there are couples that experience a lot of pain and disappointment while trying and (selfishly) Brett and I never wanted to feel that. We knew that one day we would want a child and we would leave the timing up to God.

Over the last few months, there have been moments when I thanked God that we were not pregnant. Moments when I was overwhlelmed with work, life and knew I could not handle it. In those moments I continued to pray that when He decided to give us a little miracle that I WOULD be READY! I still do not feel ready! I am so glad that He is in control and not me!

As I write this no one knows but Brett and I. It is special sharing a secret with just him.

Our 1st appointment is scheduled for June 25th. Then we will get to see "him" for the first time.

We plan to tell our parents Father's Day weekend. A little sooner than we'd like but we thought it would be wonderful "gift" to give our fathers.

The estimated arrival date January 29, 2008.

Our Weekend

On Thursday Night we traveled to Lexingston, SC to spend the night at our friends' house, Ronny and Elizabeth. On Friday, Elizabeth ended her long three years of LAW SCHOOL at USC. She has graduated and now begins the Bar Review. Please keep her in your prayers. She'll be needing a job soon! :)
Her parents hosted lunch for all of us at The Corley Mill House in Lexington, SC. Here is a picture of Brett and I.
After lunch, we headed to Myrtle Beach and ate dinner with Brett's parents at Rioz. It is a Brazilian Steakhouse and a very unique experience. Basically you pay $37.00 a person and you can partake of the large salad bar and all-you-can-eat meat! Gauchos (Brazilian cowboys) walk around with huge skewers of beef, chicken and pork and slice it on your plate until you turn over this little red paper cylinder that means STOP. When you want more food you turn it over to green.

On Saturday, Carla and I went shopping for jewelry and then ate lunch at McDonald's. I finally got to try to Southwest Chicken salad that I have been craving! Then in the afternoon, I spent time with Michelle and Little Davis Floyd. He is sooo cute and very good! I really like him! After a couple of hours at the mall we realized that the "mall burns Davis's eyes" just like Uncle Brett. (A ploy to get out of going to the mall).

On Sunday, we went to church with my Mom and to lunch with her. Here is a photo of us!
