I decided to get Cannon a new seat. Then I started to talk to him about it and asked if he wanted to get a new seat and give Sutton his seat. He said, "No, I do not want to share with Sutton. It is my seat".
I asked him because I was a little worried that he might feel this way. My friend, Joy, mentioned it and the more I thought about it I thought she might be right.
I am so glad I asked him first instead of buying the seat and having him freak out!
I am sure some of you parents (that are way better at parenting than me) think that I am the Mom and I should have just made him get a new seat. Maybe.
But Cannon has been in this seat since he was 6 1/2 months old, two years this has been HIS seat. I could not take it from him.
Anyway, I got the seat and I am excited. Sutton can use it rear-facing until he is 35 pounds (which I intend to do...are you aware that you should keep your child rear-facing until they reach the weight limit of the seatfor rear-facing?), forward facing until 65 pounds and then converts to a booster up to 1oo pounds!! I would have prefered a solid color. I told the sales rep. "why can't I just buy them in brown, black or grey?" She laughed and said most people ask "why can't I find a more colorful one?"
As a side note : Sutton (5 mths) now weighs what Cannon did at 6.5 mths. WOW!
So Sutton has a new seat. I will be sure to post pictures of him like I did with Cannon. Check back soon.

nice! I'm glad you finally decided what to do! I'm not sure I've ever seen one that goes rear, to front, to booster. How does that work? I'm excited to see this new seat!
How funny, glad you asked Cannon or you would have been going back to the store! So what color did you get?
I think asking him was a really good idea; you avoided a potential meltdown! We still have Henry rear facing as well, and will until he's at the max for his seat.
