Christmas at Grampy's

Merry Christmas Poppy

Merry Christmas, Poppy!

For Christmas we went to see Poppy's "stone" as Cannon calls it. For Christmas, we decided to get a gift in Poppy's memory for him. If you have ever read this blog you know the "Poppy/Chicken" connection. So we decided to buy chickens from Samaritan's Purse in his memory!

Cannon painted a picture with chickens and a happy little boy and our intention was to attach it to this balloon and send it up! We lost the painting in our car full of presents! We found it, of course, when we got home!

Happy Birthday Jesus

Happy Birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy Birthday, Dear Jesus. Happy Birthday to YOU!

The big candle represents Jesus. Everyone gets a little candle and lights it from His.

The RED represents his blood and the GREEN represents ETERNAL LIFE!

We always donate money to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at our church. We have always considered this our "gift" to Jesus. Well, this year we decided to do something extra that could evolve with the boys. We sponsored a child through Compassion International. His name is Juan and I saved a picture of him on my computer and now I cannot find it. So I will scan one later.

I am very excited for Cannon to begin corresponding with Juan. This is a gift that will keep on giving! :)

As Cannon and Sutton get older they will be allowed to chose their gift for Jesus.

christmas morning.

cannon climbed in bed and said. "OH MOMMY!!! (with great excitement). today is Jesus's birthday! we are going to have him a party! and he needs a present!"

he had forgotten about santa and wanted to remind me about Jesus! it was a very proud moment. i only hope that he thinks about Jesus every christmas morning before santa!
so after we talked about Jesus's birthday a little we decided it was time to open the greatest gift of all!

so we handed cannon a simple little brown box and he opened it and inside he found...

a baby Jesus.

we have this Mary and Joseph figure that have been awaiting Christmas morning to receive their baby. so cannon placed the baby in his mother's arms.

Luke 2
The Birth of Jesus
1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Flee!

Look at what came to visit our home this Christmas! Santa sent a little Elf named Fle(e). He watched us everyday and then flew back to the North Pole every night to report to Santa. He was sometimes a naughty little guy.

He tp'ed our house. There was toilet paper everywhere!

He roasted marshmellows with Kung Fu Panda. (ignore very dirty stove)

Ate more marshmellows.

He also made snow angels and a few other things. Once Cannon touched him and Fle(e) left a note saying that Santa would give Cannon one more chance.

I wonder what Fle(e) will be up to next Christmas.

Yucky Lungs

Well, Sutton did not escape the yucky lungs gene.

We went to the doctor today and he came home with albuterol and a nebulizer! Plus, a yeast infection under his arm! Poor guy.

Wear Your Helmut!

Gigi and Grandpa got Cannon a Woody for Christmas (which we celebrated this past Saturday). He was so excited. He carried Woody around, slept with him, covered him with his "cozy".

He has shown so much love for Woody that I was amazed last night when I noticed that someone had biten Woody's nose. When I asked Cannon what happened he told me, " I bite his nose". I reprimanded him and gave Woody back to him. Then he bit his nose again! Basically, Woody has half a nose now.

So as we lay in bed last night, I told him Buzz and Jesse would not come live with him if he was going to bite them. He said,

"Well...Well...Buzz better put his helmut on so he doesn't get a bite".
