My Remote Control

Cannon has a new obsession with phones and remote controls. Mainly, remote controls. If you do not let him hold one or if you take one away from him, we will gladly return the favor with a prompt scream. He knows what he wants! Well, I finally went searching through the house for an old one. Here is Cannon with his very own remote control.

He looks very pleased!

New Favorite Food

On Sunday, we decided to take Cannon on his first beach trip. As I placed him in the sand for the first time, I had Brett poised to take his first beach photo. Cannon immediately dug his hands in the wet sand and then brought those little hands right up to his mouth. Brett began screaming, "No, Cannon!" While I sat laughing, "Take the picture!". I knew he would probably eat the sand, I guess Brett had no idea. He thought it was gross. I assured him that there would be things more gross than sand in Cannon's future. Well, Cannon loved the sand. Finally, I had to remove him from it so he would have room for lunch.

This is good stuff.

Mommy, why don't you ever make THIS for dinner?

More, please...
Dry sand is good too!

Afterwards. Just the three of us!

Two Teeth

I completely forgot to post that Cannon's has another tooth!

6 month portraits

Here are a few of the photos from Cannon's 6 month photo session. I snagged them off Jennifer's blog. This is the second time that I took him for photos with her and each time he was so sleepy and did not want to play this "game". We still got him to smile a few times. There are a few family ones, I'll post once we get them...

I think will be better in black and white.

This wooden truck actually belonged to Cannon's Great Great Grandmother.

His Great Grandparents (Corder) gave this and another one to him when he went to visit.

He also received a baby quilt made by her too!

New Video of Supermodel Cannon

Video of Jack and Jillian's Fall line.

Sleep! Praise God for Sleep!

Before we moved to Summerville, Cannon could sleep 5-6 hours without waking up at night (he was only 3 months old!). After moving here, he has found it extremely difficult to sleep and wakes up throughout the night, demanding that I nurse him! Well, last night he slept from 9pm to 6:45am and I only feed him ONCE at 11pm!! I was so excited.

Now, I have learned that unlike his Mom, Cannon is not predictable and we should not expect this behavior tonight. But, I was still very proud of him.

This is what he was doing this morning after his good night of sleep. "Hi, Mom!"

I am a Big Boy!

Another milestone! Cannon can sit up! He cannot do it on his own but if you sit him up he can balance himself! He started this last week at playgroup!

Squealin'

This is Cannon in his Exersaucer. He loves it, he squeals so loud!

12 Months Already?

My Dad got me this outfit when he went to Universal Studios. It is for a 12 month old boy and it is almost to small for me. I am big!

Butternut Squash...YUMMO!

Dinner time!
Yum.
More please.
Messy Eater.
All done.

Happy Birthday, Brett!

Yesterday was Brett's birthday.
Cannon and I made him a cake and one of his favorite meals, Shrimp and Grits.

Laundry

Cannon helps do the laundry!

Now That's a Mouth Full

We have a game we play with Cannon. It's called "SUPER CANNN...NON" (said like SUPERMAN). We lay on our backs, hold him in the air and zoom him through the air all-the-while saying "SUPER CANNN....NON"!

A few nights ago, Brett was playing the game. I was in the bedroom doing something when Brett comes rushing in with Cannon. Apparently, Cannon "threw up" from flying in the air. I forgot the mention to Brett that Cannon had recently nursed.

So picture this, SUPER CANNN...NON is flying through the air. Dad is talking to him, telling him how cute he is, laughing, etc. when SUPER CANNON throws up in HIS MOUTH!

Three Month Portraits

We are getting ready for Cannon's 6 month photos and I remembered I needed to share a couple of my favorites from his 3 month session. Here they are...

Cow Appreciation Day

Yesterday was Cow Appreciation day at Chic-Fil-A.
Cannon and I went with our Summerville Moms Group.

The things people do for a FREE Chicken Sandwich.

Rylee and Parker in the "cow attire".

First Foods

I have been making Cannon's food. It has been a lot of fun and easy too! I feel good knowing that he is not eating preservatives and "other" things in commercial foods. I know exactly what is in his food! So far we have tried the following:

Rice Cereal - "Seriously? You want me to eat this? No THANKS!" says, Cannon.

Bananas- "Yummo!"

Avocado- "Hum, it's okay...but where's the bananas"?

Pears- "Bring back the avocado!"

Sweet Potatoes- "More, More, MORE!"

Avocado

This is my before picture! I had no idea I was about to try a new food.

Okay, guys...this is NOT bananas!

Give me some more, I'm not picky!

After...I am a messy eater.

Our Little Model

I recently went to a Trunk Show for a custom line of children's clothing, Jack and Jillian, and got some great summer things for Cannon.

The company decided to use Cannon to model this outfit for their fall line. Check out their website at JackandJillian.net. Cannon should be on there very soon...

The photographer said this was her shortest photo shoot ever! He smiled from the minute we put him on he ground. I think she only snapped the camera a few times and we were done. Born to model? I do not think so but this was fun anyway!

Almost forgot...Mimi, Cannon wants you to buy him this outfit. :)

Grandpa Vance

I snagged this picture off of Brett's cousin's Myspace page. This is Brett's Grandpa, Carl Vance! He is the funniest little man. I just had to add this picture to our page!
I think he is practicing his "skills" for his MANY girlfriends!

Cannon Tour '08 Final Day

On the last day of the Cannon Tour we went to the Lovelace Family Reunion and then he headed home. Here are a few pictures of our "rest stop" on the way home.

Our outdoor playground.

We had a great trip! Cannon was an "angel baby" and everyone enjoyed our little boy!

Cannon Tour '08 (continued)

Happy Fourth of July!

On Friday, we headed to Beckley, WV.
That night we went to a cookout at Jim and Sandy's house.
Cannon with Mimi. Braeden is checking Cannon out.
Look at his mouth. He watched the "pre" fireworks in amazement! The noise did not even scare our tough little boy! He loved it! When the fireworks stopped he kept looking around for more. We were not brave enough to take him to the "real" fireworks at 10pm! Maybe next year.

Dad and his boy!
