Enjoy the Interruptions

Have you ever taken a moment to savor the interruptions in your life? To see the interruptions as gifts from God? This is something that I struggle to do but when I finally allow myself to see them as such, I find that I am so blessed.

Since becoming a mother I find that everyday is full of interruptions. I have to plan ahead or else most things are left undone because Cannon interrupts with an idea that is much better than cleaning house or running errands.

Cannon and I traveled home this weekend and I was so worried that Cannon would "interrupt" the car trip with multiple crying sessions that last about 15 minutes each. On the way there, he slept and played like an angel. On the way home it was much of the same. I was so pleased. When we got to the Bull's Bay area he started making noises, not quite fussing but not happy sounds either. I decided to stop and get a drink. I put him in his sling and we went inside. We got my cold caffeine free Pepsi and headed outside. I knew he was not ready to go back in the car and that was when I spotted a patch of green grass. Cannon and I spent about 30 minutes over in the grass under big oak trees. We spent time laying in the grass, he had a snack, "picked" grass and just enjoyed the beautiful day. Until yesterday, I never noticed the trees at this little store or the little patch of green grass with a small little vegetable garden.

It was such a beautiful interruption. Thank you God and Cannon!
