Anna's Story

Anna's story has a very happy ending, however, something very scary happened to her parents this week.

I received a call from Anna's mom, Cheryl, she was extremely upset and asked that I pray for Anna. She had spots on her legs that looked like broken blood vessels (there is a fancy name for these, but I don't know it) and her doctor asked to see her immediately and then admitted her into the hospital. They had to draw lots of blood and there was some discussion of meningitis. Anna Kate stayed in the hospital overnight. Fortunately, there was nothing wrong with Anna, it was a fluke. She just gave her parents quite a scare.

I have posted blogs in the past about Lilli Grace (www.lilligrace.com) and Matt Logelin's (www.mattlogelin.com) tragedies. Then my friend, Ashley told me that Steven Curtis Chapman's teenage son ran over his little sister with a car!

All of this has me thinking, what on earth would I do if something happened to Brett or Cannon! We walk through life so often taking for granted those that mean the most to us. Thinking that we have so many days to love, laugh, cuddle, kiss, hug or to just be in the moment! We never know when it may be our last "moment". We can never be to careful, to protective, to loving!

Go be in the moment...

My Bassmasters!

Cannon and Dad have a new hobby!
They are both learning to become Bassmasters by watching fishing shows!

They are watching so intently!

Hey Dad, can you catch fish like that?

WOW, I cannot wait to go fishing with you, Dad.

Our Walks

After dinner each night we go for a walk in our community as a family. It is a little tradition that we have all come to look forward too! Cannon mostly rides in his stroller, however, sometimes he rides on Dad!

Playgroup!

Cannon and I decided to start an infant playgroup with our Summerville Moms group. We needed something for younger babies. We had our first playdate this week.

Cannon and Rylee.

Rylee.

Parker and Rylee are twins! They were born on the exact same day as Cannon! Cannon is only 4 hours older than they are!

Caroline.

Cannon used Parker as a foot rest while they played!

Mother's Day

Savannah Trip

Last weekend, we went to Savannah. We stayed with our friends Josh and Ashley. Brett played volleyball, went fishing twice, and even attended the famous "So you think you're an Athlete" Competition! He was in need of some guy time, or should I say "JOSH time"!

Cannon Visits Davis!

The last time Davis saw Cannon, he was 2 days old! You may remember me telling you how Cannon narrowly escaped death, as Davis launched him out of his lap! So, I was interested to see how Davis would react when Cannon and I were in Myrtle Beach last week.

First of all, Davis is a HAM and started performing the minute the camera was out!

Uh oh! What will he do...

KISSES!!!

Cannon loved it!

Davis puts his chin in Cannon's mouth! Apparently, it is Cannon's turn to give kisses! Looks like Davis wants a little brother!

Mimi's Birthday!

Cannon's Mimi came for a visit last week. Her birthday was May 18th and since we did not get to see her for her birthday, Cannon decided to throw her a small surprise party! Here is a few photos of Cannon and Mimi in their party hats.

Cannon's First Swim

We decided to take Cannon to the pool for his first swim on Memorial Day! We think he liked it! We got him a silly, floppy hat to protect his little head and matching swim trunks! Hilarious! He also has a cute, frog float! We think he enjoyed the pool!

My Exersaucer

I recently ordered Cannon an Exersaucer! He LOVES it!

"For a Fat Baby..."

We met a new pediatrician a couple of weeks ago. As many of you know, Cannon's circumcision was "eventful". Therefore, every time I see a new pediatrician I make them look at his little boy parts to reassure me that "it" is normal.

So I ask Dr. Boylston to check "it" out.

She pulls his diaper open and says, "This looks great...for a Fat Baby!"

Life and Death in a 27 Hour Period

Recently, my friend Ashley sent me a link to a blog and I have to admit I am now "blog stalker". If you have a few minutes do check out his site. Matt Logelin's wife gave birth to their daughter, Madeline and died 27 hours later of a pulmonary embolism. Long story short, she was getting out of bed to go hold Madeline for the first time, got lightheaded, passed out and died.

Apparently an article was written about him and his "blog site" kicked him off, he had to actually get a web page because of all the people reaching out to him.

I think it is so important for everyone to hear Matt's story. Liz's death was tragic and unexpected but we can all learn something in their story. It is so important to never miss a day truly "LOVING" those that are special to us.
