Thanksgiving Day

On Thanksgiving Day we stayed at our house. It was just the four of us.

Cannon got to eat on the fine china too!

Sutton had Earth's Best Turkey and Cranberry Dinner.

We made cookies for the tree in Cannon's room.

Next we decorated one of our Christmas trees. This is what that looks like with an almost 3 year old.

These are his St Patrick's Day beads and Matchbox car.

Then we went to the Holiday Festival of Lights which is a highlight of the Christmas season in Charleston!

Sutton ate his first graham cracker. He loves these things but refuses to eat his Mum Mums. I think he likes sweet stuff like the other two boys in my life.

Then the boys saw Santa Claus!

Cannon loves Santa

Remember this sweet face?

I hate Santa!

This was his first Christmas.

Two years later and look! He loves him!

(Please note that last year he was smart enough that he wouldn't even wait in line to see Santa. NO WAY!)

Baby's First Santa Visit

Unlike Cannon's first encounter with Santa Claus, Sutton was smitten! He kept smiling and touching his faux hair. :)

It's so funny every photographer thinks that Sutton is a dream! He smiles constantly and there is no need for silliness with this one.

Quotes

C: Daddy, did you work today?
B: Yes
C: Did you make money?
B: Yes
C: Money for Disney World? Can we go back?
(This is the first thing Cannon says to Brett when he walks in the door EVERYday!)

Today:
"What you talking to me?" Translation: What did you say to me?

Operation Christmas Child

Each November, we participate in Operation Christmas Child. I think this is probably our 5th time doing it. I have always enjoyed it but sharing the experience with Cannon has made it even more rewarding.

He had a great time helping us and we talked about how two little boys would be getting our boxes. At some point, he saw the picture of two little boys on the brochure for OCC. Then he got REALLY excited! It was as if it "clicked" once he saw their pictures! He then went into his play closet and started pulling out toys for his "friends". "The big boy can have my Lightening Queen and the little boy likes this ball", said my sweet boy!

He now has the picture taped to the cabinet in his little kitchen.

Filling our boxes. I let him cram everything in and then I took it out to organize. You are to be very creative to get everything in! I always open a bunch of the items because the packaging takes up so much room. There is an art to packing a OCC box!!!

This year was really special because we allowed Cannon to go into the service for the Blessing of the Boxes. He personally carried the boxes and placed them at the altar.

Thanksgiving

I just love holidays!!

For Cannon's Thanksgiving party at school we made this awesome turkey! Cannon helped make the skewers!

We also made these little pilgrim hats.

We made a blessing tree to help us celebrate Thanksgiving and remind us how blessed we are. We add a leaf or two or three each day. Cannon used watercolors to paint the leaves then we "flicked" them with black paint on a toothbrush so they would look more realistic. Maybe I will try to get a close-up tomorrow.
Things Cannon is grateful for: golf, moppets, Jesus, Sutton, Mommy, Daddy, golf, chocolate milk, golf (yes, he says it everyday!!!), leaves...

Fair

We went to the Coastal Carolina Fair in October. It was our first (and last) time. We decided we are State Fair kind of people.

Anyway, here are a few photos.

Don't you love his smile??

He actually rode this thing!! It reminded me of tower of terror! Which I HATE! Cannon wasn't scared at all.

Popsicle

With Cannon I made him perfect organic food but Sutton he eats...

I was eating this popsicle because Cannon's friend Julian brought one over for every family member. I was holding Sutton and he kept grabbing it and trying to put it in his mouth. Finally, I gave in. He was very happy!

PS. I did make Sutton some "real" food too.

Proud Mama

Cannon's little Sunday School Class put together boxes for Operation Christmas Child. They did a box for a girl and one for a boy. The kids all "worked together" and brought in things to fill the box.

Today, I got this letter from his teacher.

Hello!!

I wanted to send you a little note to thank you for helping with our class shoeboxes.
The plan is to continue to talk about this project with the children throughout the Christmas season, maybe
even longer if we get responses from the recipients.

I also wanted to let you know that how you are raising Cannon is obvious in his interations
with us and the other children. He has a kind and generous disposition. He handles conflict
exceptionally well, and sweetly allows us to give him instruction without argument.
I realized today how much we miss him when he is not in class. Thank you for allowing us to be his teachers.

Thanks, Andrea

:) Makes a mama proud!!

Gratitude Tree

Now that Cannon is older, we really want to make sure that he understands what the holiday season is truly about. We read the First Thanksgiving Story many times leading up to the actual day. We also mage this tree. Cannon painted soem cardstock with autumn colors and I cut out little leaves. Then we flicked black paint on them with a toothbrush so they would look more realistic.

Everyday, we all wrote something we were grateful for. Cannon was grateful for golf more than once. :) He was also grateful for other more important things too.

I should have taken a picture of the the with all its leaves, maybe next year.

Mobile Uploads

I have a camera on my phone. I upload these photos to facebook so some of you may have seen them already. I realized that many of you are not on facebook. So please enjoy! It is a "hodge-podge" of photos.

Today I made lunch for Cannon. He insisted Elmo have lunch too, then he switched there plates.

Today Cannon made this face with his playdoh. I was so impressed. This was very much like his first drawing.

This was his first time sitting in the cart.

My very cheap costume from the thrift store. A $50 Disney costume for $5 I think?

Lovin' a banana.

Shopping with Mommy and Daddy.

River and Sutton.

A Frappe.

Ikea Toys.

Locked out of the house, so we went on a walk.

Lovebirds?

Just love this face.

Makin' music.

How cute is this?????

A picture from our ER visit. Look at this sweetness.

During his first "sit" in the cart he got tired. So he layed down and took a nap like this!

CRAZY teeth.
