Buckle Me

I really hate to admit this because it is going to make me sound like a terrible Mom but it will make Cannon seem (more) amazing so I will tell it anyway.

TWICE now I have put both kids in the car, buckled Sutton in his car seat and then got into my seat. Just then I hear, "Mommy, buckle me! Buckle Me!"

I have forgotten to buckle Cannon's car seat TWICE!

Lucky for me, my two year old knows he should be buckled!

I really think I would have noticed it very soon because my mirror is always aimed down so we can see each other while we sing and talk but the thought of him not being buckled is very frightening.

I gotta get it together!

What is Cannon Saying?

-Cannon has decided that he is the boss. Yesterday, he kicked and hit me several times while I was nursing Sutton, all the while saying, "No nurse, him!" "Put him down." "Put him on his toy (aka Einstein Mat)!"

-Three times over the last few days, Cannon has said something about nursing himself. Yesterday, he came over to me and tried to nurse and said, "Cannon nurse". I said, "babies nurse." He said, " No, Mommy, Cannon nurse. Big Boys Nurse". Today he tried again. I think he is jealous of Sutton's time with Mommy.

-Cannon was really sick over the weekend. He has a fever and was throwing up. At some point, we got him some gatorade. Brett was making him a cup and he wanted something else to drink. So I said, Cannon, Chipper Jones drinks Gatorade. The next morning, when asked what he wanted to drink he said, "Chipper Johns Juice".

Sunny Day

Everyday, Cannon walks outside and as long as it is not raining he says, "Mommy, its a sunny day".

He also walks in my room every morning and says, "Hi, Mommy!" The "Hi" is with a super high voice. So cute.

More Comparisons

Okay, I promise I am not going to be that Mom that constantly compares her kids to one another but with the newness of having two boys I am fascinated at their similarities and differences. I just wanted to post a few pictures for you. These were taken when both boys were 1 month old.

Wow

Took Sutton to the doctor yesterday. He had an umblical granuloma and Dr. Tripp used some silver nitrate to "burn" the tissue off.

He also has reflux. I thought we might be lucky enough to not have it with Sutton but I actually think his is worse than Cannon's was.

Of course, they weighed him while I was there and he weighs 12 pounds 7 ounces!! This kid is gaining about a pound a week! I have already had to clean clothes out of his closet that he has outgrown! Crazy!

My Superhero

Cannon likes to pretend he is a superhero since he watched an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in which Goofy was a superhero. Evert=y superhero needs a proper cape. Here is my little superhero.

First Swim Lesson

Cannon began swim lessons on June 7th.

This is Cannon with Gina. Sometimes he likes her, sometimes he doesn't.

Sometimes he listens and most times he doesn't.

After two lessons, we went to the Wescott Pool and he was able to jump in the deep in and "paddle" to the ladder and get out. Of course, he is still wearing his puddle jumper.

Moe's

So Friday night, I asked Cannon where he wanted to eat.

He replied, "Welcome to Moe's".

1 month old

I am ONE month old.

Mommy weighed me today and I weighed in at...11.8lbs!

I am one big boy.

I had my first smile on 6/6.

My brother smothers me in kisses and sometimes he hits me too.

I sleep a lot.

I am a good baby. I rarely cry or fuss.

I do have a fussy period each night (or early morning) and keep Mommy up.

I have been sleeping in my crib and have slept there more in one month than Cannon did in two years. I usually get in Mommy's bed around 5am though.

Unlike my brother, I love a pacifer.

I am pretty content and happy.

Wind

We moved Cannon's car seat and it seems to be closer to the vent now. Yesterday, it was really hot and the air was on HIGH. Once I felt the car had cooled off enough I turned it down.

Cannon said, "No, Mommy. More wind please."

Big Boy

First Movie

Anna Kate came to visit and we took the kids to a movie. We did not last for the entire movie. The kids did LOVE the popcorn.

Photoshoot

We traveled to Savannah to have newborn pictures of Sutton made. These are a little late. He was 8 days old here. Enjoy!

Cool Trick

This is Cannon's favorite "cool trick". He does this all the time and is actually pretty good. I was videotaping him with our video camera so by the time I got around to using my camera I think he was a bit tired. It is still really cute, enjoy.

Bowling

A couple of month ago, an Enterprise employee was retiring and they had a party at the bowling alley. We took Cannon. He LOVED it! So a few days after Sutton was born we took him for a big brother outing to bowl. Here is a little video.

Big Brother

Cece and Anna Kate gave Cannon several cool toys for becoming a big brother. She also sent this cool sticker! I love it.

Firsts

Today was my first trip to church.

I was very noisey and Mommy kept me out of church for most of the service.

Beach and The Wreck

Today we took Sutton to the beach for the first time and then we ate at one of my favorite restaurants, The Wreck. It really is a "wreck", check out the pics. But oh so yummy!

Daddy wanted to go to the beach so he could put Cannon on this boogie board.

Sutton slept the entire time.
