Sweet B's (Nee Nee) Cookies

"Sweet B", Bethany sent us these gorgeous cookies. I met her through my friend, Joy. What a "sweet" gift. :)

BASEBAAAAALLLLLLLLLL!

Last Friday, we met our friends at a River Dogs game. He was a little distracted by his best friend, Dev, but I think he still enjoyed it. He has not stopped playing baseball since. We literally have to "pitch", "catch" and "hit" EVERY day!!!!

Such a Big Boy

At birth Sutton weighed 7 lbs 10 oz.
When we left the hospital he was 7 lbs 1 oz.
Five days after he was born he weighed 7 lbs 6 oz.

They expect babies to be back at birth weight by 2 weeks of age.

Sutton wanted to exceed expectations and weighed in at.....

9 pounds 5 ounces!!!!!!!!

Cannon was a BIG boy but even he wasn't this big until his 1 month checkup.

I guess those feedings every 2 hours over the last two days are catching up with Sutton.

Today's stats:
weight: 9 lbs 5 oz
head:
height: 21 inches

Milestone

Sutton's umblical cord "stump" fell off today. I am so grateful. That thing had been hanging by a "thread" for days now.

I was so over it.

Funny how things change with baby #2.

My Cousin, Peyton

Cannon's cousin, Peyton, came to play and meet Baby Sutton. They had a blast together. Everytime I mention her name he says, "my cousin".

Talking to Birds

We bought a new bird food (aka not the cheapest one I could find like last year). Anyway, I am now a believer in the fact that better bord food brings more birds. We have had a host of blue jays, cardinals and other birds I do not recognize.

Well, last night we were all sitting on the patio watching the birds. Cannon loves to watch and mimic them. So he was saying, "tweet, tweet, tweet" over and over. Brett looks over and says, "Cannon can you talk to birds?"

Cannon replied, "Yes!, Hey, Birds! Hey, Birds!"

Pacifer Heaven

Cannon thought Sutton might need a pacifier.

Daddy's Boys

First "Bath"

Sutton's first sponge bath.

Where is His Mommy?

For the first couple of days after Sutton came home from the hospital, Cannon would ask, "Where is his (Sutton's) Mommy?"

Golf Clubs

Sutton is competing for BEST LITTLE BROTHER of the Year. :)

He got Cannon a cool set of golf clubs for being a great big brother.

Any Presents?

Mimi brought Cannon to the hospital on the night Sutton was born. We gave him a couple of presents for being a big brother.

On Tuesday afternoon, he came back to the hospital to visit.

At some point, he went over to my mom with his little arms raised up and said, "Any presents?"

He wanted more presents, fortunately for him Gigi and Grandpa had a bag of goodies for him to open!

Dedication

Our last photo as a family of three.

On Mother's Day we had our Parent-Child Dedication at Old Fort. We moved to Summerville when Cannon was 4 months old and it took a awhile to find a church home. When we finally decided God wanted us at Old Fort it was Mother's Day 2009. At our church they only have child dedications once a year so we missed it!

So this year , May 9, 2010, we were finally able to dedicate Cannon. It was a great experience and it was really nice to be able to spend time with Brett trying to decide on a scripture verse with significance to both of us and to become a "life verse" in a sense to Cannon.

Our church does a great job of incorporating the church members into this dedication as well. Both the parents, family, and the church members to make a covenant to help raise the child in a christian home, support, teach and lead the child on a Godly path. It is very touching.

We chose the following scripture for Cannon:

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law of my servant Moses gave you, do not turn from it to the right or left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

-Joshua 1:7-10.

Thank you to all of you that came to share in this very special day with us!
We love you very much!
