Staycation Days

For the rest of our staycation we painted the bathroom, went to the park, napped, got haircuts, and packed for our trip to see the Clintons.

Staycation: Day 2

We decided to go to Caper's Island. It was a great boat trip. We got to spend time picking up awesome shells walking the Boneyard Beach.

On the boat ride, we saw lots of dolphins.

They pulled crab traps along the way. Look at this beautiful blue crab.

For dinner, One of our FAVORITE places to eat in Summerville, P. Dog's.
They actually changed their name but we STILL call it P. Dog's.

My child LOVES ketchup.

Staycation: Day 1

We started the first day of our staycation by visiting Angel Oak. (Well, it actually started with a sick mama, I have strep throat!) It is a majestic old oak tree and I have wanted to go see it since I lived here during my CofC days! Finally, I got to visit it. It is truly amazing. This tree is estimated to be over 1400 years old. It is supposedly the largest living organism east of the Mississippi!

Can you see how small Cannon is in comparision.

We went to James Island County Park. The one thing we LOVE about Charleston is all the parks! They are everywhere, in abundance and AWESOME! Seriously, this area really knows how to "do" parks!

Daddy is swinging this boy really fast and he loves it.

Cannon lost his clothes...he saw the sprinklers and just had to go play in the "waawaa".

We had dinner at Rita's! YUMMO! Brett has been asking to go here. Brett had a Barnyard Burger. It was a burger with a fried egg, bacon and cheddar cheese. I had a Catina Burger, it was covered in sauteed onions, cheese and guacamole. We also had a HUGE portion of fries seasoned with Old Bay. It was great! While we were there this guy walked into the dining room and Brett said I know that guy! Then he realized he knew him from TV! We used to watch the television show all the time. Apparently, John Davis owns Rita's OR the real estate market has really hit lower than we thought and he nows works here. Anyway, he said that Cannon was a cutie (Cannon's new claim to fame, a "famous" person thinks he is cute)!

After dinner, we went over to the beach. Cannon showed Dad his volleyball skills. Brett was so impressed, he has decided to let Cannon play with him next summer.

Then it was water time. This kid LOVES the beach!

Had to squeeze in a little art. Do you like my hat?

Ice Cream

Cannon has his first ice cream cone in Georgetown, SC.

School Days

Last night we met Cannon's teacher at Child's Day Out . It is GREAT program at our church that all the Moms in Summerville rave about! Apparently, they usually have a waiting list. We actually signed Cannon up back in January! We saw his cute little class and he played with all the toys! His teacher was really sweet. He is going tobe the youngest one in his class. There are six other kids (4 boys and 2 girls). I am so excited about this little program. I really like the fact that it is more school than daycare. They learn songs, bible stories, bible verses ( as much as they can), they have little gym, art and outdoor play too! He will be there from 9am-12pm Monday and Wednesday.

As you know, Cannon has a hard time being left at Sunday School so please pray that he transitions smoothly and enjoys school.

Milestone

What a big boy we have! We have tossed out the highchair. Not really, it is in the garage but for the past two weeks Cannon has been sitting at the table like a big boy. He loves it.

Beach

I have been "itching" to take pictures of Cannon on the beach. I finally had the chance. I think I need to sign his modeling contract today! This kid is beautiful! :)

Beach

It was a overcast day on Saturday...perfect for pictures. So I talked Brett into going to the beach so I could take some family pictures. I packed my tripod, hoping to get a few of us together.

We just happened to stumble upon friends of ours, Joy and Mark. Mark was gracious enough to take this picture if our little family. Thanks, Mark!

Sprinkler Park

Can you believe that I have not posted any pictures this year of Sprinkler Park? Cannon has been at least once a week and I never have my camera. This time I did!

Just for fun...This is Cannon last summer.
