Blue Angels Airshow

This weekend we went to Beaufort, South Carolina with Josh, Ashley, Chris and Cheryl to see the Airshow. It was my first time going to Beaufort and an airshow. We were very excited! Enterprise was a sponsor and a little tent was set up with food and drinks. We took chairs and watched the show. The weather was perfect! We all came home with sunburns.

After the show ended we realized that one of the Blue Angels had crashed and soon we received news that the pilot died. They closed down the entire base and no one could leave for a couple of hours. It was a sad end to our fun day. Here is a picture of the angels before the crash.

I have also added a few others from our day!

What Happened Over Here?

On Friday Night, Brett and I decided to watch a movie. Brett was putting in the chosen flick when I heard, "WHAT happened over HERE?". I walked over to view the "what" and I found MUD everywhere! These pictures do not begin to show the mess that we saw. There was mud all over the blinds, the floor, the side of the couch, the table, the white lamp shade, on the wall as high as my head, on my bookshelf, my art books, pictures and on the television. Apparently, a Tasmanian devil entered our home and tore into an OVER watered plant!

Immediately, Brett determined is was my beloved Oliver! I figured that with all the MUD that lay before our eyes there would be evidence "on" the culprit. I scooped up Graham and looked at his paws...CLEAN! Then, I went over to Little Oliver, who was beginning to look a little concerned, and checked his paws....CLEAN! Just then I noticed...HIS EARS!

First, I noticed a little speck on the right ear. Then, I saw two ears full of MUD! I found the Tasmanian devil in my "innocent" Oliver!

New South

Last weekend, we went to dinner at this newer restaurant in Savannah called "New South". It's one of those "dives"(a place that my friend Michelle always seeks when traveling) that only the locals are familiar with. It was yummy and we were able to spend some quality time with our dear friends, Josh and Ashley.

The menu is comprised of creative remakes of traditional southern foods: mini squah casserole, crispy mac & cheese, etc. Check out there website: www.prochefscatering.com. Ignore the Carey Hilliards photos. The food is great! We had yummy cheese bisquits, barbeque chicken pot stickers and mojo pork tenderloin quesadillas for appetizers. I had crab stuffed tilapia for my entree and I do not remember what Brett ordered! HA! Ashley had the biggest scallops I have ever seen and Josh ordered Chicken of some sort (he arranged the entire entree to satisfy his distaste for vegggies and anything of the sort):).

The best and worst surprise of the evening came when our desserts arrived. Brett and I ordered Cuban Funnel Cakes with almond crusted vanilla ice cream. When the dish was placed in front of me I looked down in disgust. The funnel cakes were long, round, brown and looked much like something that comes out of your body and definitely not in it! We could not stop laughing at the "Poo Poo Platter"! Eventually, I used my fork to chop it up and it was delicious! Someone should really talk to these people about their presentation!

All in all we had a great night! If you are in Savannah check it out!

Welcome!

Welcome to our blog! A place to keep in touch with our family and friends! I hope that I can get Brett to actually get online and type something every now and then! Cross your fingers!

I guess I could let you know how the blog's name came about! Many of you already know that Brett has called me "Sweet Pea" for 8 years! Over the years, "Sweet Pea" has morphed into many things including Pea, Sweetie Peatie, Petie Paabie, Pete, etc. At some point, I decided to join in on the "Pea" names and I have called Brett names such as Master Pea, Pea Diddy, and my favorite Mean Pea! The one that name that has had longevity has been Pete!

If you ever hang out with us, you will eventually here us call each other "PETE"! Thus, we have the Two Petes in a Pod Blog!

Brett still calls me "Sweet Pea" and it is my favorite of all the Peas!
